About RouteOnTime

RouteOnTime is an independent reference site covering US flight on-time performance and airport delays. On-time performance, delays and fees for US flights — sourced from the public record.

What we publish

We build fast, static pages on three things travelers actually search for: on-time performance for busy US domestic routes, delay profiles for major hub airports, and a side-by-side comparison of airline baggage fees. Every figure is attributed to its public source — chiefly the US DOT Bureau of Transportation Statistics and the FAA — and dated on the page.

Where the data comes from

On-time, delay, taxi-out and cancellation figures derive from the BTS Airline On-Time Performance dataset (the federal carrier reporting record) and FAA Aviation System Performance Metrics. Baggage fees come from each airline's published schedule, cross-checked against BTS baggage-fee statistics. See our methodology for the full pipeline and current limitations.

Honest about our figures

Airport on-time and cancellation figures are real US DOT Bureau of Transportation Statistics data for full-year 2024, the latest complete reporting year. Per-route figures are clearly-labelled estimates derived from the endpoint airports' BTS on-time data, and baggage fees reflect each airline's published 2026 schedule. Fees and performance change over time, so always verify a specific number against the primary source before relying on it — our methodology explains how each figure is produced.
